Mission

In my violin studio, it is my goal to leave a footprint in my students’ lives as my teachers have left in mine.

I respect, admire, and owe so much to the wonderful teachers that have inspired me throughout my life. From my early training after I performed for Jascha Heifetz to study with the legendary Juilliard violin teacher, Ivan Galamian, to my most recent awe-inspiring teacher, David Nadien, former Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein, there has always been a plethora of musical inspiration that has helped me grow as a musician, and as a human being.

To develop an intrinsic desire in my students to create music, and through proper technique and development, to actually produce these ideas on the instrument are the most exciting, and fulfilling lessons for both the teacher and student.

TestiMonials

Martin really knows the in’s and out’s of violin playing and teaching. He’s worked with some of the best teachers and can tell you things very few other teachers know. He’s got a great sense of humor and is super organized. Wonderful teacher.

Martin is a colleague of mine; we have worked together at Lincoln Center and in recording studios in NYC. I believe he would be a wonderful teacher, patient and knowledgeable. He is well versed in the Dounis method of violin pedagogy.
